About Dawn:
I began my interpreting in 1998 after graduating from an interpreting program in Milwaukee, WI. I moved to Washington, DC in 2000 to obtain my master's degree in Linguistics from Gallaudet University. Since 2002, I have been primarily working as an independent contractor in the DC metro area I did, however, live and work for two years in Colorado from 2005 to 2007 but was ultimately drawn back to the east coast. I have been nationally certified by RID (CI & CT) since 2002. In addition to being a member of RID, I am a member of the local chapter (PCRID), the Conference of Interpreter Trainers (CIT), and the American Association of the Deaf-Blind (AADB). I have and continue to work in a variety of settings. One of my specialties is interpreting for deaf people who also have a vision loss.
